Course Detail - Integrated Web Design
Course Summary:
This course is a three-day intensive program in web design, recommended for students who aren't able to enroll in a full 8-week program. The class starts with an introduction to web design and the variety of disciplines it entails. Day One is a survey of the many areas you need to know as a webmaster – HTML, CSS, Image Optimization, FTP and Hosting, Site Structure and Navigation, and Design Tools. Days Two and Three are primarily lab experience, hand-coding a basic site using HTML and CSS, and putting into practice the disciplines covered in day one.
Course Materials:
Each student will receive a copy of Web Design In a Nutshell by Jennifer Niederst Robbins, as well as a USB flash drive with additional course notes and reference materials.
Students should bring a laptop computer if possible in order to participate in class exercises in the most comfortable environment available. A laptop will be made available for any student who cannot provide their own.
