FAQ

Where are your classes held?
The Web Design Academy of Denver is proud to have our classes hosted by Aviano Coffee in downtown Denver. Aviano is located at 955 Lincoln Street in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Denver. Classes are in the upstairs meeting facility. Parking and coffee are provided with all classes. See your registration packet for more details.

Can a student retake a class?
Student may retake class for a $25 retake fee, on a standby basis (last priority). Must be within 6 months of previous class.

What should students bring to class?
Nothing – unless your class requires a laptop (see descriptions). Notepads/pens/pencils are recommended, but will be made available. Coffee, water, and snacks are provided. You may bring a lunch, but the class location is near many restaurants and cafes. In come cases, lunch is provided (see course description).

How do I register for classes?
Via our website. Phone registrations will hold space in class, but we cannot accept payment over the phone. Same-day registrations are available – cash or check ONLY – but not recommended as the class may be already be full.

What payment methods do you accept?
Cash, check, money order, cashiers check in person or via phone. Major credit card or e-check on our website via GoogleCheckout or Paypal.

Do you cancel classes?
Rarely. The only reasons we cancel class are for inclement weather (cancellation will be posted on the website, and is usually in accordance with city transit), low enrollment (also rare, because we run most classes with a minimum of 2 students), or a personal emergency that prevents the instructor from attending. In the event that classes are canceled we will notify you by both phone and email. You will be given the opportunity to reschedule the class to a later date or receive a full refund.

What is your student cancellation and reschedule policy?
A student may cancel up to 5 business days prior to date of class for a full refund. Cancellations less than 5 business days are entitled to a 50% refund, or a reschedule to a later class (based on available space). Cancellations day of class or no-shows are NON-REFUNDABLE – no exceptions. Any student who cancels or no-shows more than once may be required to place non-refundable deposits for future registrations. A student may reschedule to a different class date at any time up to 5 business days prior to date of class at no extra charge. Transfers are based on available space in class, but they do take priority over retakes.

What does a normal class session look like?
A typical class is 4-6 students. Class begins at 9:00am. It is recommended that you arrive by 8:45 in order to be prepared for a prompt start. Breaks are at approximately 10:30 (10 minutes), 12:00 (45 minutes), and 2:30 (10 minutes). Class ends by 4:00pm. The format during the class is determined by the instructor. Each student will have a workstation (except for classes requiring laptops – see descriptions), a thumb drive with notes and work files, and in some cases a text or reference book. Class format may vary depending on location for mobile lab classes.

Custom, Not Offered or By Interest Only Classes
Some classes run not on a normal schedule, but by interest level only. Usually these classes require a minimum of three students to run the class.
